Lions tame Cougars in three sets

The Eureka Lions took out the Stillwater Cougars in non-conference volleyball at Stillwater Christian School on Tuesday.

Scores were 25-14, 25-15, 25-21.

“Eureka has strong, consistent servers and we struggled in our serve-receive tonight,” Stillwater coach Katie Guthrie said. “Our setter, Sophia Sulzbacher, worked hard and did a great job of putting up good sets and getting up some great digs.”

Sulzbacher served three aces and had 10 digs.

Eureka’s Avory Escobar had three service aces, five kills and 15 assists.

The Lions play Troy in an away game at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
