COLUMBIA FALLS —

The Columbia Falls Wildkats won their fourth straight game with a 3-0 shutout of the rival Whitefish Bulldogs on Tuesday in Northern A soccer.

Josie Windauer scored all three Wildkats (8-1, overall, 5-0 conference) goals.

“Super proud of the kids,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “We defended super hard all game.”

Clark praised the play of defenders Flora Jarvis and Lexi Purcell and goalkeeper Ave McDonald.

“Any time you can beat a team as wellcoached as Whitefish, it speaks to your work ethic and they did great,” Clark said.

Whitefish is 5-4 and 3-2.

“I think Columbia Falls was very organized and set up with the intent to have few chances at a goal but supply them to their most dangerous player Josie Windauer,” Bulldogs coach Roland Benedict said. “They executed very well, however we played our system 85 percent perfect. The last 15 is creating optimal scoring changes and moving the ball quick enough.”

Benedict highlighted the play of midfielder Emma Barron for “stopping their counter attacks throughout the game.”

Columbia Falls hosts Polson at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Whitefish hosts Bigfork for a 5:30 p.m. game, also on Thursday.
