Women Who Wine stage annual banquet Oct. 8

Women Who Wine of the Flathead will host its sixth annual Giving Banquet from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Arts and Technology Building at Flathead Valley Community College.

Called “A Night to Applaud Our Stars,” the event recognizes the important services of local Flathead Valley nonprofits and supports their work through grants from funds raised by Women Who Wine over the past year.

The evening will include heartwarming stories, music, food by Desoto Grill Catering and a glass of wine.

Women Who Wine began in November 2013 when a few women invited their friends to a monthly gathering over appetizers and a glass of wine, to learn firsthand about the mission, accomplishments, and challenges of nonprofit charities in the community. The organization grew steadily as members invited more friends to join. Each month members bring a $30 donation and a bottle of wine to be shared or auctioned to grow the WWWF Fund held at the Flathead Community Foundation. Since its inaugural Giving Banquet in 2014, Women Who Wine has granted more than $170,000 to 80 local charities.
