Capital City 7-on-7 XC meet cancelled

The Capital City 7-on-7 cross country meet scheduled for today at Bill Roberts Golf Course in Helena has been cancelled due to heavy snowfall in the region on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Local teams scheduled to compete in the event, which is one of the largest in the state, were Flathead, Glacier, Bigfork and Columbia Falls.

There were 51 teams slated to attend this year’s event.

The format allows the No. 1 runner from each school to compete against other No. 1 runners. Runners 1-7 compete head-to-head in races for boys and girls.

The event will not be rescheduled. It was the final meet before the All-Class State Meet in Great Falls on Oct. 26.
