Eureka boys win third straight divisional XC title
THOMPSON FALLS — For the third straight season, the Eureka boys cross country team were tops at the Western B championships on Wednesday in Thompson Falls.
The top 10 runners in each race earn All-Conference honors.
Eureka sophomore Isaac Reynolds was the divisional boys champion with his time of 17:26.36 and was one of seven Eureka runners to place in the top 15.
There were four Eureka runners in the top five of the boys race.
St. Ignatius was runner-up, followed by Bigfork in third place.
This year there was a new girls team champion as Thompson Falls upset Bigfork who had won the past four Western B titles. Eureka girls were third.
Bigfork was ranked sixth in the state, Thompson Falls Falls 12th and Eureka 13th coming into the meet.
Bigfork and Thompson Falls were tied with 52 points and had to use a tiebreaker, which is each team’s sixth place runner.
Karolyna Buck of St. Ignatius won the girls divisonal champion title. Thompson Falls placed runners in second through fourth place.
