Local favorite Silverado mixes classic country and rock
Silverado will be jamming at the Kalispell Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 26. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the band plays until 11 p.m. Cover charge is $6 for Eagles members and $7 for nonmembers.
The Silverado band was born a few years ago when bassist Gary Grafe contacted four longtime musician friends about putting a new band together. At various times through the last 26 years, Grafe had worked with each of Silverado’s members in other bands, and knew firsthand the talent each of them would bring to the new group. With three lead vocalists bringing a rich variety of what the band describes at “smooth classic country and rockin’ ‘50s and ‘60s” songs to their repertoire, they became instantly popular.
Grafe credits Silverado’s success and popularity to his fellow band members, describing Paul Beebe ripping it up on lead guitar, harmonica and vocals as a guaranteed crowd pleasing spark plug.
“We’re also very fortunate to have Dale Veile on the steel guitar,” Grafe said. “Dale is also a very accomplished six string guitarist. You will occasionally hear him switch over to Telecaster and trade hot lead licks back and forth with Paul. Rounding out the rhythm section on drums, and always with a big Montana smile on his face, is Eddy Fox. Eddy is rock solid and, with ease, lays down an exciting groove on any song we throw at him.”
With four veteran musicians, all successful in their own right with other groups spanning well over 25 years, their collaboration together in Silverado has quickly made them one of the favorite dance bands on the local music scene.
