Out-of-state granny falsely framed
A young boy called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report illicit substances in his grandmother’s house. When officers contacted the boy’s mother, they found out his grandmother lives in another state and he had not seen her in four years.
Someone heard a crash but officers investigated and found “everything secure” and appearing normal.
Two men were spotted carrying machinery. A caller found it suspicious one of the men was carrying a weed-eater and one was carrying a chain saw.
Someone told the Sheriff’s Office they saw a car driving without its headlights turned on. They later reported the lights had been turned on, but the driver went “two to three miles without lights on.”
A black bear cub was spotted near an empty office building in Columbia Falls.
A woman complained about “ongoing issues with speeders.” She said “just this morning” two drivers had passed her “recklessly.” She offered her driveway as a spot for law enforcement to park as “the perfect location to catch speeders.”
A man was “upset for being locked off his phone,” so he took off speeding. His parent tracked him and reported he was going 90 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. Then the parent said he got caught behind traffic and slowed to the speed limit, so there was no need for law enforcement to get involved after all.
Someone reported a truck driver who passed her “on double yellow lines.”
A mother hesitantly disclosed information her son had given her about a potential robbery from a hotel. She refused to give any additional information so the Sheriff’s Office was unable to pursue the alleged incident.
A woman complained she was bitten by a cat.
Someone was concerned because people who were being evicted from a property “for some reason brought two things of hair dye with them.”
An employer was concerned when his employee, who suffers from diabetes, didn’t show up to work for five days. The police found out, “he is OK but doesn’t want to work for the [employer] any longer.”
A thief was one step ahead of his victim when he stole the security camera meant to prevent thievery.
A woman was seen jumping in front of cars “dragging a red duffel bag.” She was counseled for her behavior.
