No puppy love for new dog owner

| October 27, 2019 4:00 AM

Someone reported a new puppy owner to the Kalispell Police Department. The suspicious owner came into the woman’s store and told her about his new puppy, but the woman was concerned because she saw on social media a puppy had been stolen. She didn’t see the subject puppy or get any information about the suspected burglar, nor did she have any surveillance in the store.

A driver claimed she backed into a building because her vehicle “unexpectedly accelerated in reverse and the brakes failed.”

A woman was concerned about being reimbursed after her debit card number was used to make a $90 unauthorized purchase. She didn’t want the bank to have to reimburse her since that “would technically make the bank the victim of the theft.”

A woman felt it was “weird” when she found a “pile of gift cards” by her business’ trash can.

A man called the police about his friend because he thought “something is wrong with her,” but then he changed his mind and decided he didn’t want law enforcement involved.

A man was seen hanging out by a portable toilet near a new building. He asked the employees there for water and to use the bathroom, but then he stole some “low-value” items out of a work vehicle.

An Arizona woman was “very sorry” when she was caught using a fake ID. She said the decision was “stupid” and she had “just wanted to see if it would work.”

A driver said “something was emitted into the air” from another car and hit his windshield near Three Mile Drive. He decided to go back to the road the next day to investigate what it could have been and take pictures for the police.

Someone called the police with “questions about the new sleeping in vehicle ordinance.”

Someone went to the KPD lobby to request extra patrol in his area because “there have been some suspicious vehicles.”

A man showed up three times to an establishment and banged a large stick on the floor. All the police in the area were dispatched to look for the stick-banger.

A woman was seen jumping out of a car, walking into a restaurant and exiting through the back of the eatery. The caller reported the woman was “apparently not looking for assistance.”

A caller complained to the police about panhandlers in Woodland Park and said he would request extra patrol in the area. An officer investigated for “about five minutes” and “did not observe any violations of the city code.”
