Johnston leads ASU at Tavistock Invitational
Arizona State freshman Ryggs Johnston recently ended as the Sun Devil leader in the final fall event for the men’s golf team at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Fla.
The Libby High School alum shot a 3-under-69 in the final round of the tournament to finish at 3-under-213. That tied him for 11th place.
The Tavistock Collegiate Invitational is known as college golf’s major championship. It features 15 of the nation’s top college golf programs.
The course, originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, is located among the Butler Chain of Lakes in Central Florida and is one of the longest and toughest courses in the state.
The par-72 Isleworth measures 7,544 yards with a slope of 142 and a rating of 77.5.
Johnston is also ranked 47th on the Golfstats NCAA men’s Division 1 player ranking.
