Bob Anderson, 64

| September 6, 2019 4:00 AM

With love, and broken hearts, we say farewell for now to one of the hardest working and strongest men we have ever known. Bob Anderson, passed away with his children, daughter-in-law and grandchildren by his side in the early morning hours of Sept. 2, 2019. A Flathead Valley native and true outdoorsman, Bob was rough, fair, simple and proud — an all-around genuine man.

In his younger years he excelled in wrestling, where he learned his strengths. School wasn’t his favorite subject but his work ethic and charm carried him through, graduating from Flathead High School in 1974. In his wilder days Bob could be found arm wrestling the biggest boy in the pub or feeding and tending to his hogs, eventually catching the eye of a young woman, Roni Korneychuk.

Bob and Roni were married in 1977. They kept their roots here in the valley and began a family, first Nathan then Nichole. True to his nature he set out to take on the world raising hogs and caretaking a few small ranches, Bob finally found his passion in landscaping. With his drive for success and his family’s support, they started and successfully ran Evergreen Landscaping for over 30 years. Even still today people recall seeing his kids on any given job site “doing their part.” It truly was a family business.

Once his children were raised, he and Roni moved full time to Ashley Lake in 2000 where they began caretaking homes around the lake. Sadly, in January of 2010, Bob lost the love of his life, Roni.

If you ever needed the “Game Warden” of Ashley Lake you simply needed to “head up the grade” where he could be found tinkering outside, checking the salt lick, shooting trap, fishing on the African Queen in his famous perch holes or stoking the fire and skinning a deer in July!

Bob was preceded in death by his late wife, Roni Anderson.

He is survived by his children, Nathan (Lindsay) and Nichole; Bob’s grandchildren, Karsyn, Kylie, Emma, Paityn and Kade; parents, Lew (Brenda) and Pattie; siblings, Vicky (George) and Lew (Kathy).

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on September 13 at 2290 Trumble Creek Road, Kalispell.
