Dawgs top Stillwater spikers

WHITEFISH — The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs volleyball team dropped their first set to the Stillwater Christian School Cougars but regrouped to win the next three sets to seal the victory at Whitefish High School on Thursday.

Whitefish won 21-25, 25-13, 15-11, 25-20.

“The girls played hard tonight and started to get in the swing of our game,” Bulldogs coach Addy Connelly said. “We started controlling the ball better. Our serving was more consistent. Luci Ridgeway is playing some steady ball for us all the way around.”

Ridgeway made her presence known all over the scoresheet with four service aces, seven kills and five digs.

Kaiah Moore contributed five kills and three digs. Mary Akey served four aces and had three digs.

For Stillwater, Sophia Sulzbacher logged 21 assists and 13 digs. Sydney McKerrow had 18 digs and two service aces.

Kayla Oyler had a game-high six blocks.

Whitefish’s next contest is against Columbia Falls on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

BROWNING — Polson rolled over Browning in a Northwest A meeting, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

Kobbey Smith had six kills and three aces for Polson.

Berkley Ellis had eight assists and three service aces.

Billings Skyview 3,

Flathead 2

GREAT FALLS — The Flathead Bravettes fell to Billings Skyview in five sets, 21-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16, 10-15 at C.M. Russell High School.

Flathead (1-1 conference, 2-3 overall) won the fourth set to tie the game but came up just short in the fifth.

Julia Burden had a big game for the Bravettes, serving three aces with seven blocks and 16 kills.

Mayson Moore had 32 assists, a game-high.

Flathead will participate in the Electric City Invite in Great Falls, which begins today at 10:30 a.m. and runs through Saturday.
