Portion of Sun Road closed starting Monday

Due to this year’s ongoing pavement preservation project in Glacier National Park, the Going-to-the-Sun Road between Avalanche Creek and Logan Pass will be closed Sept. 16-29, according to a press release from the park.

Logan Pass will remain accessible from the park’s St. Mary entrance and Avalanche Lake Trail also will remain accessible, along with other trailheads west of Avalanche Creek.

Park visitors should be aware that all water at the Logan Pass Visitor Center is now off for the winter season. Portable toilets will be available, but the visitor center will have no running water or flushing toilets until the water is turned back on next spring.
