| September 18, 2019 4:00 AM

James Nowlin, 66, of Kalispell, was called home on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019.

James was born on Feb. 22, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Ruby and Guy Nowlin. He had six siblings, David Nowlin, Connie (Bud) Beebe, Jeff (Suzi) Nowlin, Roy (Judi) Nowlin, and Richard Hunt.

James married Brenda Belveal in 1975. They were a very blended family, with many adopted children, Dan-el (Michelle) Ponath, Russell (Lisa) Noss, James R. (Angie) Nowlin, Jenny (Chris) Sklany, Amy (Mack) Weelborg, and Kelly (Lisa) Nowlin, and Mary (Eric) Nowlin.

They also included Desiree DesJarlais as one of their own, as well as many more.

Their cup runneth over with 22 grandchildren and many great-grand-children.

James served in the Army during Vietnam. He worked at the Daily Inter Lake as the dock manager for 16 years, and made many friends in those years. “Bigfoot” was a large man with an even larger heart.

He is survived by his mother, his wife, and all his siblings, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Guy Nowlin and Bob Hunt.

A celebration of life is being held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Smith Valley School Gym. Lunch will be provided.
