David G. 'Dave' Campbell, 47

David G. “Dave” Campbell passed away suddenly on Dec. 5. 2018, at his home in Kalispell.

He was born in Tacoma, Washington on Sept. 23, 1971, to Malcolm “Mac” Campbell and Sherry Johnson Campbell. At the age of 2 Dave, along with his mom and sister Marne moved to Billings and at the age of 10 they moved to Kalispell where Dave developed a love for the outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing and hunting is where he would be most of the time.

After graduating from high school in 1990 Dave joined the Air Force where he visited places like Guam and Hawaii. While in the Air Force his son Cody was born in Minot, North Dakota, where Dave was stationed as an air crew life support specialist and helped to train pilots learning survival techniques.

He moved back to Kalispell with his then wife Kristi and their son Cody in 1994. After separating from his wife Dave worked for Pepsi Bottling Co, which allowed fate to intervene and Dave met his wife of 17 ½ years, Amy, at Safeway. The happy couple wed in 2001 after five years together. After quitting Pepsi in 1997, Dave worked for the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company. While working for CFAC Dave learned to fly and got his commercial pilot’s license and his welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Certification.

After becoming disabled in 2013 and having the first of what would be many back surgeries for spinal stenosis, Dave had to give up hunting and fishing because of health reasons. But he did push himself and learned to play the drums.

Dave was preceded in death by his father Mac Campbell, his mother Sherry Bodily, his stepfather Leo Bodily, and mother-in-law Debbie Jo Ward.

Dave leaves behind his wife, Amy Campbell, of Kalispell; son, Cody Campbell, of Billings; sister, Marne and partner Donna O’Connell of Libby; nieces, Tanis, Allie and Natalie Blythe of Whitefish; and nephew, Kyler Ward of Coram; and many other family and friends that love and miss him.
