Skyleigh Thompson scored the game-winner for the Flathead Bravettes in a Western AA crosstown soccer game against the Glacier Wolfpack at Legends Stadium on Tuesday.

Tied 1-1 after the first half, Thompson scored her 14th goal of the season at 49:00, dealing the Wolfpack their first loss.

Glacier had won six straight games.

“My team wanted to win,” Flathead (4-3-1)coach Bledy Doda said. “They deserved to win this game because they worked very, very hard. I am very happy for the way they played tonight.”

Emily Cleveland scored for Glacier (6-1-1) at 14:00.

“I think it was probably one of the better crosstown matches I’ve been a part of,” Glacier coach Brenden Byrd said.

“Really back and forth.”

Doda agreed: “It was a great game for both teams. It was fun to watch and fun for the players to play.”

Kami Darrow scored Flathead’s other goal of the game.

Flathead Braves coach Zach Brenneman had a feeling it might end up as a one goal game.

He was right.

“I had a feeling it was going to come own to who scored the first goal and we did that,” Brenneman said. “We held on to win.”

The Braves (5-3) beat the Glacier Wolfpack on Sage Anderson’s goal at 57:00.

According to Brenneman, it was an “intense game that was a battle at both ends of the field.”

“I don’t want to take anything away from Glacier, they played a really good game,” Brenneman added.

“It was a really fun game. Both teams were playing really hard.’
