Paul M. Marshall Jr., 94

Paul M. Marshall Jr., 94, died Saturday Aug. 8, 2019, at his home, The Springs in Whitefish.

Paul was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Eldon, Missouri, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a World War II veteran and flew P-38s and P-51s in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he returned and married Phyllis Ahl. He graduated from Kansas State University where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

Paul was in fertilizer sales for most of his career in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. He was a past president of the Illinois Fertilizer Assoc-iation. Paul was a longtime Rotarian and past president of multiple Rotary clubs. He was awarded the honor of Kentucky Colonel by the governor of Kentucky. He was a longtime member of the Central Christian Church of New Albany, Indiana. Paul loved flying and flew for over 60 years. He also loved model railroading.

Paul was preceded in death by Phyllis, his wife of 54 years; his parents, Paul and Coreen; and brother, Allen.

He is survived by his three children, Paul and his wife Lee, Barbara Traina and her husband Bob, and Jim and his wife Beth; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 1, at The Springs in Whitefish.
