Virgil John Kirkland, 85

Virgil John Kirkland went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at age 85.

Virgil was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Kalispell to Clarence and Dorathy (Verley) Kirkland and lived all his life here. He married Sandra Roark on May 8, 1967. He worked at Plum Creek, Petrolane Gas and retired from Montana Power. He was an active member of Bible Baptist Church for many years. Virgil enjoyed his family and hunting, camping and especially fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorathy Kirkland; sons Darrell, Tim Kirkland and Russell Eastman; and two brothers Merle Kirkland and Clyde Kirkland, both formerly of Kalispell.

Virgil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra; and children, Keevin (Judy Lyon) Kirkland of Belgrade, Debra (Gary) Helzer of Kalispell, Layne (Helen) Kirkland of Kalispell, Dan (Kim) Eastman of Polson, and Glenda Eastman of Kalispell; one sister, Virginia Roberts, of Kalispell; one brother, Fred (Connie) Kirkland, of Bozeman; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Bible Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church in honor of Virgil.
