Whole lot of shaking is simply tree removal

A man called the Whitefish Police Department to report a supposed “earthquake.” Then he changed his mind and thought someone had run into his apartment building. It turned out there were trees being removed in the lot next to his residence.

A police officer from Arkansas called the Whitefish police to see if he could exchange patches with a local officer.

Someone reported a large female bear with cubs in Whitefish. Another caller reported seeing fresh scat on a walking path and said she heard someone calling “hey bear.”

A man who was previously arrested asked for his confiscated items to be returned. He reportedly carried an ice ax and bear spray.

A man could not keep his story straight when he tried to retrieve a cellphone from the Whitefish Police Department. He first said he was there to pick up his phone, but then he “said it was his brother’s phone.”

A woman unplugged her roommate’s loud music and then he “became violent and shoved her.”

A concerned gardener complained his neighbor sprayed herbicide that killed some of his plants. He asked law enforcement to “check it out.”

A woman with one dollar and nothing else said a church paid for her to take a bus from Virginia to Whitefish. She said she chose to come to the area for its proximity to Canada. She reportedly did not have a plan, but decided to head to Kalispell to try to get some form of identification.

Someone called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a neighbor for “always filming people.” This particular film subject said he was “coming out of the laundry and the neighbor was filming him.”

Someone’s son accidentally dialed 911 while looking through his parent’s phone for a friend’s number. The parent was reportedly “very sorry.”

A hotel guest reportedly gave a $200 cash deposit to someone he thought was a front-desk employee. When he checked out of his room, he was informed the hotel had no record of the deposit. He was advised to pursue this as a civil complaint, rather than a criminal issue.

Someone claimed she “heard a bear rustling around, making noises” and asked for police to patrol the area.
