Ross Holcomb, 32

| April 10, 2020 1:00 AM

Ross Holcomb—father, son, brother, friend, Marine and dedicated public servant—died on Friday, April 3, 2020, at his home in Ronan. He was 32 years old.

Born on October 30, 1987, to Ronald Holcomb and Helen (Bushby) Tyree, Ross was known for his compassionate heart and love of the outdoors; however, it was his daughter, Angela, that was truly the light of his life.

Ross graduated from Bigfork High School in 2006 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2007. Ross proudly served in the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, serving combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2011, Ross and his young family returned to their beloved home state, Montana. Ross studied at the University of Montana in Missoula and in 2017 was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff in Lake County.

Ross is survived by his beloved 9-year-old daughter Angela; former spouse, friend and mother of his child, Serena Zavala; cherished parents Ronald Holcomb and Helen (Bushby) Tyree; siblings Kyle Nace and his wife Emily, Kodi (Nace) Sohl and her husband Mathew and eight nieces and nephews.

An online memorial service is planned for later this month. A burial with military honors will be held at the Bigfork Community Cemetery this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a managed account for Angela. Friends are encouraged to visit www.thelakefuneralhomeandcremation.com to send memories and condolences to the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
