Men separate after backpack melee

| April 12, 2020 1:00 AM

Kalispell Police Department received a report that a man used bear spray in a parking lot to keep another man away, but missed. The incident supposedly was over stolen money in addition to a backpack being stolen by one of the men off the back of the other.

The men went their separate ways.

A woman calling from North Main Street alleged a large group of people were drinking in a field. She also claimed to see someone urinating and thought there were teens present. Officers didn’t find any underage drinking going on. The group reportedly denied urinating in public and moved along.

A woman allegedly heard a large, and very loud, explosion in the Willow Glen area.

A homeless man reportedly was “going crazy” on Second Street East when he was seen trying to open doors of a building and “getting up close” to people on the sidewalk. The man supposedly kept walking, leaving behind a shopping cart.

Police made contact with the man and advised him he could not be in possession of the shopping carts after checking with a store.

A man allegedly threatened that “whoever called 911 on him would be sorry,” after he supposedly acted aggressively.

Noisy people were purportedly partying too hard when someone complained about the loud music, flashing lights and a fire, wanting them to “knock it off.”

A woman reportedly thought she heard someone outside banging on the windows and believed there was new damage done to her vehicle.

A distraught woman reportedly told police some random guy was in her garage going through her stuff.
