Opal A. Horstman, 101

Opal A. Horstman, 101, passed away peacefully April 2, 2020, in Kalispell.

She was born in January 1919 in Garden City, Missouri to Ora A. and Beulah (Oesch) Miller. They moved to the Flathead Valley when she was 3 months old. She was the oldest of eight children.

Opal married Bernard E. Horstman and they spent many wonderful years together. Traveling was a favorite pastime. She spent many winters in Arizona and traveling to visit family and friends. When not working, she was volunteering at church, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, The Red Cross and Kalispell Regional Hospital.

Opal was preceded in death by her husband; son Harlan; brothers Orville and Fred; sister Donna; stepson Forrest (Frosty) Horstman; and grandchildren Brett and Dawn.

She is survived by her son Alan (Carol) Horstman; daughter Jeanne (Terry) Dodson; stepson Ed (Kathy) Horstman; brother Jake; sisters Lela, Norma Jean and Marilyn; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
