Artist Thomas Valenica, of Creston, is in search of a few helping hands. Valencia is in the process of creating a mural along West Center Street at Fifth Avenue West in Kalispell. He’s doing the painting himself but he’s in search of anyone willing to “lend a hand or two” in hopes of filling a white panel of space beneath the mural with painted hand prints.

Valencia began working on the project about two weeks ago and used GoFundMe to crowdsource money for primer paint, low-pressure spray paint cans for the detail work and additional supplies.

He primarily works on the project in the evening hours. He received permission to complete the work from the building owner, Valley Linen, and the city of Kalispell.

The mural will feature snow-capped mountains, rushing rivers and streams, wildlife, forests and flowers and will transition from a daytime to nighttime scene from left to right when completed. The project will span about half a block when finished.
