Artist Thomas Valencia, left, of Creston, spray-paints the palm of Jordan Stanley in front of a mural Valencia is creating along West Center Street at Fifth Avenue West in Kalispell on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Valencia began working on the project about 10 days ago and used GoFundMe to crowdsource money for primer paint, low-pressure spray paint cans for the detail work and additional supplies. Valencia also seeks the community's help with filling the lower white panel of the mural with painted hand prints, as long as you don't mind getting a little spray paint on your hands. He primarily works on the project during the evening hours, which he received permission to complete from the building owner, Valley Linen, and the city of Kalispell. The mural features snowcapped mountains, rushing rivers and streams, wildlife, forests and flowers and will transition from a daylight to a nighttime scene from left to right. The mural will span an entire block when complete. (Casey Kreider/Daily Inter Lake)

Artist Thomas Valenica, of Creston, is in search of a few helping hands. Valencia is in the process of creating a mural along West Center Street at Fifth Avenue West in Kalispell. He’s doing the painting himself but he’s in search of anyone willing to “lend a hand or two” in hopes of filling a white panel of space beneath the mural with painted hand prints.
