Diane Bowersox, 72

Diane Bowersox, 72, of Airway Heights, Washington, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane on Aug. 8, 2020.

She was born on March 10, 1948, to Cecil Edward Combs and Fredricka Elva Combs in Kalispell. She attended and graduated from Flathead High School in Kalispell.

She had two children that she cherished dearly, Scott Allen Barge and Kendra Marie Chavez.

She married Terry Bowersox on Dec. 31, 1984. Together they made an incredible team and lived a life full of adventure and companionship. They celebrated 35 years of marriage.

The most important thing to Diane was her family. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, a word of advice or a listening ear for anyone in her family. She loved camping, fishing, riding her four-wheeler, mowing her yard and taking care of her flowers. Diane was known for her kind and welcoming heart. She was always full of life and laughter and looked forward to whatever plans the future might hold. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and willingness to always be there for anyone that needed her.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Fredricka Combs; and by her sisters, Darlene Walter, Ceci Stap and Sherry Jones (all of Kalispell).

She is survived by her husband, Terry Bowersox, of Airway Heights; son, Scott Barge (wife, Shawnee) of Kalispell; daughter, Kendra Chavez and grandchildren Kaylin Kinney and Jakob Chavez, all of Kalispell; stepdaughter, Shawn Hustoft, of Brandon, South Dakota; and sisters, Carlene Hutchings (husband Mark), and Faye Kerzman, all of Kalispell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews which she loved and adored.

“To know her was to love her” and she will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A memorial will be planned at a later date.
