Columbia Falls rallies past Polson

COLUMBIA FALLS - Mason Peters threw for four touchdowns Friday, three in a blistering second half that rallied the host Wildcats past Polson 48-28 in a Northwestern A football battle.

Columbia Falls trailed 28-14 in the third quarter of its season opener, after Polson quarterback Jarett Wilson threw touchdown passes of 65, 80 and 48 yards, then added a 1-yard scoring run.

After Wilson’s rushing TD, Isaiah Roth returned the ensuing kickoff 84 yards for a score, and that seemed to spark the host Wildcats. They scored the final 34 points of the game, going ahead on a 33-yard pass from Peters to Taylor Bryan - his second TD reception.

Cody Schweikert had two scoring runs for Columbia Falls. His 4-yarder capped the scorikng with 1:30 left.

Bigfork 56, Townsend 20

TOWNSEND - Cormac Benn and Levi Taylor scored three touchdowns each as Bigfork began its season with an impressive non-conference win over the Townsend Bulldogs.

Benn ran 25 times for 189 yards, including TD runs of 17, 1 and 10 yards. Taylor added another 149 yards on 16 carries, and had scoring runs of 8 and 3 yards. The linebacker also returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown in the Vikings 29-point third quarter.

George Bucklin had three carries for 40 yards, including a 20-yard scoring run. The Vikings rolled up 468 yards rushing and 507 yards overall, while holding Townsend to 211 yards.

Patrick Wallen threw just four passes but completing three, including a 16-yard scoring strik to Walker Fisher.
