The final reclamation date will now be December 2050. Early mining records are not available, but as much as a total of 2.6 million cubic yards of sand and gravel may be removed from this site. A substantial volume of soil and overburden has been salvaged for reclamation. The site will be reclaimed to wildlife ponds and an industrial site. The site is accessed through a gate at the northwest permit corner directly onto US Highway 2. The pit would be operated from 5 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday. Special extended hours would be used to haul products for some projects, especially at night.
