Shirley Ellen Brewer, 86

Shirley Ellen Brewer passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2020, in her home in Kalispell.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1934, in Maywood, Illinois, to John and Elsie (Ittner) Taylor. She moved to Kalispell in the early 1970s with her first husband, James I. Johnson. She began her career working for Kalispell General Hospital, later to become Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She retired from Materials Management at KRMC in 2005, after 30 years of service.

On Nov. 24, 1979, Shirley married her true love, David H. Brewer, and lived happily together for the next 41 years. Shirley’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her loving husband.

For the last few years of her life, she treasured her time riding the Meals on Wheels route with David, spending time together in the car. Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents, her ex-husband, Jim and her stepson, Neil Brewer.

She is survived by her husband, David, and his four brothers Roger (Marty), Mark (Denise), Sid (Joyce), all of Kalispell, and Glen (Mary Ann) of Cascade, Idaho; her sister, Jacqueline Taylor, of Forest Park, Illinois, as well as her stepdaughter, Faith (Layne) of Kalispell, four grandsons, two great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are pending at this time, due to COVID.
