No. 27395 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Flathead County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) will receive project bids for the remediation, demolition, and disposal of structures located at the former CHS Grain Elevator property located at 505 W Center St., Kalispell, MT 59901. The full bid package is available at the following website: www.flatheadcountyeda.com. Specifications may be obtained by contacting Jerry Meerkatz at 406-257-7711 ext. 4. Bids will be accepted until 5:00pm on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Bids are to be hand-delivered or mailed to: FCEDA c/o Jerry Meerkatz, 44 2nd Ave W, Kalispell, MT 59901. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the project site on Monday December 7, 2020 at 8:30am. All interested bidders are encouraged to attend to ask questions and visit the site. All bids shall remain effective for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of opening. FCEDA reserves the right to consider or reject any and all bids, and further to waive any defects or irregularities. All bidders must use the bid form supplied with the specifications. A contract will be awarded to the lowest, best value, most responsible bidder and deemed to be in the best interest of FCEDA. All bidders are expected to be aware of and abide by all state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations governing the solicitation and acceptance of public contracts, including any such statute, rule or regulation relating to non-discrimination. FCEDA reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, or to accept any bid it deems to be in the best interest of FCEDA. 1.0 Project Introduction 1.1 Location This project is located on the former CHS Grain Elevator property located at 505 W Center St., Kalispell, MT 59901. 1.2 Background The property is currently developed with concrete grain elevators, a fertilizer storage warehouse, and several concrete foundational structures. This project does not include any demolition of the concrete grain elevator structures. This project includes the remediation of asbestos containing materials on the fertilizer warehouse roof, remediation of asbestos containing materials on the top of the concrete grain elevators, removal of the metal auger house on the top of the concrete grain elevators, demolition and removal of the fertilizer warehouse building, and demolition and removal of other concrete footings and asphalt on the site. 1.3 Description This project includes four (4) separate tasks. Tasks 1-3 are to be performed as soon as possible and Task 4 may be performed at a later date TBD. Project tasks: 1. The remediation of asbestos containing materials (ACM) on the fertilizer warehouse roof and proper disposal of all ACM (including any required permitting). 2. Demolition of the fertilizer warehouse structure (after abatement of ACM), including foundations, and the removal and proper disposal of all debris (including any required permitting). The entire building structure and foundations are to be removed and the site will be bare ground on-grade at completion. 3. The demolition and proper disposal of all remaining concrete foundations and asphalt on the site, excluding the concrete grain silos (including any required permitting). The foundations in the area of the scale and below-ground auger may be sloped and sit slightly below grade (as will be discussed at the pre-bid walkthrough), but all other concrete and asphalt is to be removed and the site will be bare ground on-grade at completion. 4. The remediation of asbestos containing materials (ACM) on the roof of the concrete grain elevator structures and proper disposal of all ACM (including any required permitting), including the removal of the metal auger house structure on the roof.
