Anna Mae Bunyea, 91

Anna was born to William and Eleanor Lecher on Aug. 6, 1929, in Chadron, Nebraska.

Anna passed away at the Brendan House Nov. 30, 2020.

She attended grade school through high school where she met and married her first husband, Lloyd Thomson. To this union they had three children. After this marriage ended, she moved her family to Bigfork where she later met and married Walter Krause Jr. and to this union was born one son. She was later widowed.

Anna met and married William Sears and a son was born to this union, which later ended; and then met Bud Bunyea, later ending.

Growing up with her family in Bigfork, Anna enjoyed O-Mok-Sees with her children, growing a large garden, square dancing, and playing the accordion at Swan River Hall dances.

Anna worked at Swan River School, before moving to Missoula and then returning to Kalispell where she resided, working for the Carpenters Union until her retirement. For over 30 years she sold Avon in her spare time, receiving awards for top sales. She made many lifelong friends. She also enjoyed doing a yearly bazaar, weekly Bible study group, and was an active member of Easthaven Baptist Church until she became homebound.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fred Lecher, husband Walter Krause Jr., and son-in-law James Gilbert.

Survivors include children Gary Thompson of Kalispell, Cheryl Gilvert of Aiken, South Carolina, Kathy Thompson of Kalispell, Bruce and Adele Krause of Kalispell, and Kevin Sears of Bigfork; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 12:15 p.m. at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell, officiated by longtime friend Ron Pierce of Bigfork. A spaghetti luncheon will follow at 2 p.m. at the VFW in Bigfork.

Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
