Evelyn M. Sutton, 89

Evelyn M. Sutton, 89, born Sept 20, 1931, passed Dec. 2, 2020, at Footsteps Memory Care in Whitefish.

She is survived by ten children, Edith Elder, Mike Sutton, Alice Malmanger, Wally Sutton, Pauline Cleveland, Lee Buffington, Doug Buffington, Marie Monroe, Frank Sutton and Kathleen Carlson; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Clifton Forseth.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert J. Sutton, brother Robert Forseth, one son and three grandsons.

Evelyn was born and raised in the Sweet Grass Hills by Sigurd and Edith Forseth, where she rode her horse to Hill School. She graduated high school in Chester and attended Montana State University Northern in Havre. She lived with her first husband, Don Buffington, on a ranch south of Chester before moving to Kalispell where she married Robert to make their “His Hers and Theirs” family. They lived outside of Kalispell and were active in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, LaSalle Grange and Flathead County 4-H as leaders for 20 plus years. She was an avid seamstress, quilter, cook, gardener and crafter. She made many gifts and necessities for family and friends that they display in their homes today. She was always sweet, giving and a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother

The funeral service for Evelyn will be at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home on Dec. 9 for family viewing and burial ceremony at Glacier Memorial Gardens. The family intends to hold a memorial service in her garden at her Kalispell home in early summer.
