Herbert 'Larry' Smith, 77

Larry Smith passed away Dec. 6, 2020.

Larry was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on March 7, 1943, to Laurence and Millie Smith. He was raised in Tacoma, Washington, graduating from Stadium High School in 1961. He proudly served in the Air Force from 1961 through 1965.

He worked for Boeing as a draftsman and then as an inspector. He was later an insurance agent.

We moved back to Kalispell in 1974. He worked for Melby's Furniture and then became manager of Conrad's Carpet and Furniture. In 1985 he started Smith's Carpet Center.

Preceding him in death were his beloved brother Ed Smith, his mom and dad, in-laws Ted Main, Shirley Main and Carrie Richards.

He is survived by Barb Smith, Lance and Danell Smith, Kevin and Belinda Smith, and Tiffany and Kent Hakes; also five grandchildren, Levi and Easton Smith, Coley and Chase Hakes and Sydney Smith. Also surviving Larry are in-laws Phyllis and Richard Potuzak, Earl and Joann Main, Fran and Howard Ruby, Helen Petty and Linda and Mickey Byers. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank Frontier Hospice for their wonderful care during his last weeks.
