Suspect is blowing in the wind
A home alarm went off at a house, and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was asked to investigate a bicycle rider in the area and a reflector seen farther down the road. The daughter of the homeowners said she thought “it was the wind that set the alarm off.”
A Bigfork homeowner requested extra patrol 10 minutes after someone allegedly tried to break in through her sliding glass door.
Someone reported a “suspicious vehicle” behind a grocery store in Evergreen and it turned out the driver was carrying a fake ID.
Someone was worried about a “highly intoxicated” woman with a camping backpack in Somers. The person who reported her said she was acting “super weird” and “looking shifty.” The woman said she was trying to hitchhike to Evergreen, but she was apparently hiding from cars whenever they drove by.
A driver reported a car that appeared abandoned in a field in Evergreen. The person said he was “just worried something [was] not right.”
Someone found a missing wallet with cats on it. The wallet was returned to its owner but $100 was missing.
An office store employee thought he heard an explosion, but there did not appear to be anything smoking or burning in the area.
A lift operator at a ski resort accidentally called 911 looking for travel information.
A thief stole at least 10 firearms from a shed, a trailer and a safe.
Someone else reported the theft of an ax from a shed that occurred in early January.
A New Jersey man who also thought he was the victim of a theft said his stolen firearm had appeared at a pawn shop in Columbia Falls.
A driver in Kalispell said an “older female” motorist was “going super fast down the highway.” The speedy driver was reportedly “honking and going crazy, [and] then sped off.”
Someone reported another irresponsible driver for passing her in a construction zone.
A poodle was taken to the animal shelter after someone saw it roaming around U.S. 2 looking “like something [was] wrong with it” and producing “lots of drool.”
A school employee called authorities after a student’s father came into the school and “yanked her out” because she hadn’t made her bed that morning.
A friend was worried about a “beginner-intermediate snowboarder” he thought had gone missing on Big Mountain, but it turned out he was OK and was found in a bar.
