Sheriff investigating Lakeside tire-slashing

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple reports of slashed tires and other criminal mischief that occurred in Lakeside over the past couple of weeks.

The Sheriff’s Office first responded to complaints of slashed tires and spray-painted vehicles on Jan. 21. At the time, they reportedly had no suspects in the incident.

Then, around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, officers responded to another complaint of multiple vandalized vehicles at the same Lakeside address.

Authorities have not identified any suspects in the incidents, but it’s possible the vandals are teenagers, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Victims of the vandalism reportedly know the potential suspects and are engaged in an ongoing dispute with the possible vandals.

On Tuesday, officers spoke with two juveniles who were suspected in the vandalism, but there was reportedly not enough information to move forward with those suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
