Libertarian Party condemns lawmaker's statements
The Montana Libertarian Party condemns the statements of Republican state Rep. Rodney Garcia, of Billings. His words, coming from an elected legislator during a political event could be construed as an active call for violence.
Montana legislators, a formal censure vote is not required, a special session would be at the expense of Montana taxpayers. You can unofficially enact the same starting right now, along with government officials and support personnel. Do not communicate with him, answer his emails or his calls. Put Mr. Garcia on a virtual island and leave him there until the primary where he will wither on the vine.
Mr. Garcia obviously needs to brush up on the United States Constitution. The core of the Constitution is Lliberty. Liberty and libertarianism stresses the idea that individuals have the right to make their own choices in life so long as those choices do not involve the initiation of force or fraud against others. Dr. Ron Paul simply suggested we apply “The Golden Rule” and you can’t get more Montanan than that!
Only through civility in our words and actions will we move forward to prosperity. Statements based in hate and violence have no place in Montana or Montanan Politics.
