| February 14, 2020 4:00 AM

April Ann Roose passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, in Kalispell.

April was born March 29, 1964, to Kurt and Dolores Roose, in Whitefish. She grew up in Eureka and graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1982.

April married Kelly Greene in 1989. They resided in Eureka for several years, then later divorced. April moved to Kalispell, where she practiced cosmetology and also worked as a barista. April was able to experience her dream of living in the warm sun when she moved to Phoenix with her partner Pete Baldwin. After a few years, she moved back to Kalispell. April later made her home in Bigfork. She and her partner, Mark Whitney, welcomed their son, Evan, into this world on June 30, 2005.

April was a terrific cook and was able to use this passion at a place very special to her, St. Matthew’s Catholic School in Kalispell. She worked there several years. April also worked as a home health care aid for many elderly clients. These clients were the recipients of her warm and caring nature, and often, her cooking. April also was a caretaker of a friend’s two precious canines.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her son. April loved to plant flowers, to decorate her home for every single holiday, to create and cook new recipes, to take long walks, bike rides, and watch movies. She was devout in her Catholic faith and was greatly comforted by it. Her funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at St. John Paul II Catholic church in Bigfork. A violinist accompanied the Mass and played her favorite song, “Ave Maria.” A reception followed, provided by her church family.

April is survived by her son, Evan Whitney; her mother, Dolores (Jim) Reynolds; her brother, Mark (Tana) Johnston; her sisters, Melissa (Eric) Knutson and Tara (Jeff) Collins; her nephews and nieces, Beau Johnston, Cody (Chris) Bishop, Cale Knutson, Hannah Knutson and Isaac Collins; and great-niece and -nephew, Bailey Bishop and Mason Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kurt Roose (1986).

April, we send you love and very much look forward to being reunited with you.
