Polson gets hoops split with Libby

POLSON — Down by nine points with two minutes to go, the Polson Pirates rallied to beat the Libby Loggers 42-38 in Northwest A basketball on Saturday at Salish-Kootenai College.

Freshman Jarrett Wilson had four steals and nine points in the fourth quarter to help the Pirates. Wilson finished the day with 10 points, which led the team.

Xavier Fisher, a sophomore, hit a triple to help Polson’s cause. Fisher scored five points.

The Pirates trailed 29-22 after three quarters.

Libby’s Keith Johnson led all scorers with 14 points. Caden Williams added 13.

BIGFORK – Sidney Akinde’s six points in overtime lifted Thompson Falls past Bigfork in the Western 7B game Saturday.

Akinde had a game-high 16 points. Eli Hines led Bigfork with 13.
