Ruth Fern Franklin Rose, 89
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth Fern Franklin Rose, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Feb. 20, 2020.
She was born Feb. 15, 1931 in Kalispell. She was the only child of Clara Johnson Franklin and Alva Franklin.
During her life journey she married Corky Livesay and had three daughters from this union. She then married Gerald Rose with whom she had four more children.
Her love for Montana ran deep. She only left the state to go on numerous adventures and trips. She spent many years in Schafer Meadows and McGregor Lake creating many fond memories. Throughout her life she was active in bowling, golfing, extension homemakers, Kalispell Senior Center and multiple card groups.
She was employed at Moose’s Saloon for 16 years and won national soup award and chili cook-offs. Anyone who had the pleasure of eating her cooking still remembers it today. Her smile lit up every place she entered and always was a friend or adopted mother to all her children’s friends. Her McGregor Lake family held such a special place in her heart.
She was happiest surround by family and enjoying holidays. Her strength, kind heart, humor, beauty and unconditional love was a treasure for her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 26th at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at the Eagles in Kalispell with a meal.
Ruth is survived by her children Sherry Lee, Josephine and Richard Dopp, Gerri Rose, Patrick and Terri Rose, Carla Rose, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sue Cave, and son Robin Rose
