Submerged stolen vehicle retrieved from Flathead River

Flathead County officials pulled a stolen pickup truck out of the Flathead River Friday morning at the Old Steel Bridge fishing access site.

According to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Aaron Harrison, the Kalispell Police Department is investigating the incident because the vehicle was stolen from its jurisdiction.

Harrison said no body was found inside the vehicle and referred other questions about what was found inside the 2005 Ford F150 to Kalispell Police. He did say the truck was stolen late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Responding agencies included Montana Highway Patrol, Kalispell Police, fire rescue crews from Creston and Evergreen, Two Bear Rescue, Flathead County Search and Rescue and the Sheriff’s Office.
