Steer owner suspects foul play
A livestock owner told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office he had a dead steer with a possible bullet wound to the eye. He went over the animal with a metal detector but he couldn’t find anything. He decided to get the animal’s head x-rayed and report back to law enforcement after.
Someone in Evergreen was worried about a vehicle because it was “backed in” behind a coffee hut. They were especially concerned because they said, “it’s a Honda—they’re frequently stolen.”
Someone was worried about “two kids on motorcycles” with no headlights on in Kalispell.
A man called the police because a towing company reportedly would not give him back his towed vehicle. He apparently hung up before he could be transferred to someone who could help.
A resident said a white vehicle parked near her home “makes [her] feel uneasy.” The vehicle had apparently been gone for a while and then returned.
A truck with a “jacked up” steering column was left in front of a café.
Someone claimed he saw two dogs running at large and eating a deer carcass in Kalispell, but an officer who inspected the area didn’t see any dogs.
A parent was upset because her neighbor apparently has been yelling and cursing at her children when they are playing outside.
Someone called the Sheriff’s Office to tell them the road was very icy. She said she “almost witnessed a few accidents in the last few minutes.” But she added, “if drivers are using common sense, [they] should be OK.”
A dog-walker found an animal bait trap that he thought was poisoned. He suspected his neighbors had put it there because “there is animosity between them.” It turned out the trap was placed on private property where the caller was not supposed to be walking.
A driver was pulled over by Montana Highway Patrol and then continued to speed and pass cars on double yellow lines, according to someone else on the road.
Someone wanted to take in another person’s dog because she said its neck was red after she took off its shock collar. However, officers took a look at the dog and determined there was “nothing that would constitute cruelty to animal charges.”
