Senators provide a good laugh
Well if nothing else Sens. Daines, Braun and Scott provided a good laugh with their letter (Let’s pass “no budget, no pay,” Dec. 15). I do agree something needs to be done about the way the federal budget is handled. However, for these three to write this letter is hilarious. All three are multi-millionaires, how much do you think missing a congressional paycheck is going to hurt them? I mean really, their congressional salaries are no more that pocket change for them.
Take the time to look up what our elected representatives and senators are worth. Look up all 100 senators and 435 represenatives and then tell me how many it would hurt to miss a paycheck from us, the taxpayer. In their defense the letter could have been written by virtually an Democrat or Republican serving in Congress, but they were the ones dumb enough to do it. Either that or they figure us all for fools. Maybe a better solution would be hefty fines based on their net worth, say 10% for the first week, 20% for the next week, etc. Make it hurt when they don’t do their job.
If you want some cheap entertainment send Daines, Tester and Gianforte an email and ask them how much they benefited from the tax cut, and how many more people they hired as a result, how much they improved benefits for their employees, and how much they raised their employees wages.
