Gas line repairs to close Kalispell alley for 2 weeks

| January 3, 2020 6:27 PM

NorthWestern Energy is doing maintenance on a natural gas line in the Kalispell area that will require the closure of the alley at 601 E. Washington St. beginning Jan. 6. The closure will last up to two weeks.

The north entrance of the alley will remain open to traffic. The work area is limited to the area in the alley adjacent to Washington Street.

The work will involve ground thawing, then construction work for the maintenance, followed by surface repair work. The entire alley will reopen when the concrete cures sufficiently.

The work is part of NorthWestern Energy’s commitment to providing safe, reliable utility service to our customers. For more information, contact NorthWestern Energy Operations Planning Supervisor Adam Frawley at 406-751-2215 or adam.frawley@northwestern.com.

Due to this work, the city’s trash containers will be dumped early Monday and relocated to the adjacent street for the duration of this project while this important maintenance work is completed. Questions about solid waste can be directed to Kalispell Public Works at 758-7720.
