Kenneth Meldrum, 77
“Kenney” Meldrum passed away Nov. 29, 2019, in the Anchorage Alaska, hospital from pneumonia.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1941, to William and Hazel Meldrum in Havre, the youngest of four children. Kenney grew up in Somers. He attended school in Somers and graduated from Flathead County High School. He loved fishing from the dock of the old Somers Mill. In the 1960s, he had a black and white retractable Ford convertible that he was so proud of.
Kenney worked at Bud’s Texaco in Somers and also for Bell’s Camper & Trailer Co. as a finish carpenter.
In 1968 Kenney and Susan Fuller were married. They have two sons, Stacey “Sam” and Rian. They later divorced.
In 1980 his friend Irwin Jenson helped and encouraged him and the family to move to Anchorage. He found work at Builders Supply Millwork and retired from there in 2007.
Kenney is survived by two sons, Sam and his wife Erin from Spokane, and Rian from the Bay Area in California; one grandson, Clark, from Washington (son of Sam); and a sister, Marilyn Nelson, from Kalispell.
Kenney was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lloyd Meldrum; and a sister, Elaine Sloan.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be at a later date.
