Wildkats stay undefeated; Flathead boys beat Big Sky

COLUMBIA FALLS — Hannah Schweikert and LaKia Hill each scored 16 points and the Columbia Falls Wildkats took a convincing 61-28 win in Northwestern A girls’ basketball Saturday.

Josie Windauer added 11 points for the Wildkats who are 7-0 overall and 2-0 in league.

Three players tallied six points each for Polson (0-3, 0-7).

The Southwestern A Broncs were led by Ashlee Searle’s 16 points. The Northwestern A Bulldogs fell to 3-6.

Katie Schmidt added 13 points for the Lions, while Avery Escobar had nine points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Escobar also hit a game-sealing free threow at the end of the game for Eureka (7-1, 2-1 in conference).

Megan Baxter’s 16 points led Thompson Falls (6-2, 2-1).

Hunter Hickey added 16 points and Joston Cripe chipped in with 10 for Flathead (1-4 overall, 1-1 in league), which rallied from a 28-20 halftime deficit.

Ben Maehl’s nine points led Big Sky (0-7, 0-3).

Trevor Lake added 10 points for the Pirates (4-4 overall, 1-2 in league) and Ryker Wenderowth added nine – all in the first half.

Allec Knapton and Dillon Shipp each scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats (1-5, 0-1).
