Snow Sculpture Showdown planned in Whitefish
The city of Whitefish, in partnership with Whitefish Winter Carnival, announces the Snow Sculpture Showdown planned for the final weekend of Winter Carnival, Feb. 7 and Feb. 8.
The city is calling for teams to create a snow sculpture garden in Depot Park. The theme is Winter Carnival Characters, but following the theme is not required.
Starting Friday, Feb. 7, teams will work to create their sculptures, completing them by noon Saturday. The Winter Carnival royalty will judge the creations prior to the parade and award cash prizes. The public is encouraged to visit the park to view the sculptures all weekend.
Teams will be provided a block of snow, 6 feet tall by 4.5 feet in diameter. A pop-up tent, warm drinks, space heater and snacks will be provided Friday and Saturday. This is a fun, amateur event and families, groups of friends, and business teams are encourage to sign up.
