Whitefish girls hit 7 triples, rout Libby

WHITEFISH — Three Whitefish Bulldogs combined for seven triples in a commanding 46-18 win over the Libby Loggers in Northwest A girls basketball at Whitefish High School on Friday.

Gracie Smyley scored 13 points, including three triples and Payton Kastella and Jadi Walburn each scored two triples.

Walburn added 12 points and Kastella scored nine for Whitefish (3-8 overall, 3-2 conference).

Olivia Smith led Libby (3-7, 1-3) with six points.

ST. IGNATIUS — Isaac Bjorge scored 18 points and the Bigfork Vikings beat the Mission Bulldogs in a Western 7B game.

Bigfork led 28-22 at the half and pulled away after the break.

Colt Thorness added 12 points for the Vikings.

Whitefish kept things close all game but never led.

Ryan Goodman, Jay Beagle and Caden Williams all scored nine points for the Loggers (8-2 overall, 3-1 conference).

Sam Menicke led Whitefish (3-8, 1-5) with 10 points.

FRENCHTOWN — Polson’s Colton Graham scored 19 points but it wasn’t enough for the Pirates to overtake Frenchtown (8-3 overall, 4-1 conference) in a nonconference game.

Frenchtown led 33-18 at the half. Polson (7-5, 4-3) tried to rally in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much. Xavier Fisher added nine points for the Polson.
