Hanson triple-double leads Eureka over Mission; Wildkats extend win streak to 4

EUREKA — Katie Schmidt poured in 21 points and Megan Hanson had a triple-double for the Eureka Lady Lions, who beat the Mission Bulldogs in a Western 7B game to improve to 11-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

Hanson scored 13 points and had 13 boards and 10 steals for the Lions, who led 22-21 at the half. Maggie Graves added seven points and 13 rebounds.

Syd Brander led Mission with 15 points.

Eureka’s next game is 5:30 p.m. Friday against Loyola.

Down six with under two minutes left, Glacier rallied and edged Helena High on Aubrey Rademacher’s layup at the buzzer.

Kaylee Fritz hit a 3-pointer – her only points – to spark the Wolfpack back from a 49-43 deficit. With 13 seconds left Ellie Keller hit another three to tie the game at 49-all. Then came a turnover and Rademacher’s 17th and 18th points.

Keller added 12 points for Glacier (5-5, 4-2 in league). Emily Feller and Kylie Lentz scored 10 each for the Bengals (4-6, 2-4).

The unbeaten Bruins improved to 6-0 in Western AA games with a victory at the Flathead gym.

No other details were available. Capital is 10-0 overall. The Bravettes fell to 2-8, 1-5.

COLUMBIA FALLS — The Columbia Falls Wildkats extended their win streak to four games with an easy win over the Whitefish Lady Bulldogs in Northwest A play.

Hannah Schweikert scored 17 to lead the Wildkats (11-1 overall, 4-1 conference). Maddie Robison and LaKia Hill added 14. Josie Windauer had nine rebounds to go with her nine points. Madysen Hoerner scored five points, had eight boards and eight blocks.

For Whitefish, Peyton Kastella scored 11 points.

Columbia Falls hosts Corvallis today at 4 p.m.

Whitefish (3-10, 3-4) has a 7:15 p.m. game at Ronan on Tuesday.

POLSON — The Ronan Maidens scored double-digits in each quarter to rout the Polson Lady Pirates by a large margin: 68-18.

Kleauna DeRoche was Ronan’s leading scorer with 19 points. DeRoche scored 12 of her points in the first half.

Alexia Keinitz poured in six points to lead Polson, who falls to 0-13 overall and 0-7 in Northwest A. Autumn Piper added four.

Ronan is 9-5 and 5-3.
