Michael Wayne Larson, 69

Michael Wayne Larson, 69, passed away on July 6, 2020, following a hard fought battle with cancer.

Michael, known to most as Mike, was born to Leroy and Thelma Larson in Kalispell on June 12, 1951. After graduating from Flathead High School, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Following his service he worked at a mill in Kalispell, and then for Root Masonry before he acquired a position at Plum Creek, where he worked for many years.

He enjoyed the outdoors in many aspects, including camping, fishing, hunting and collecting firewood, passions he passed on to his daughters and his grandchildren. He had a passion for fast cars as well as classic cars and he enjoyed telling stories of owning his own and cruising the town in his younger days.

Michael had a large family and many friends. Memories shared will live on through those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheri and husband Jason Smith, and Dacia and husband John Wright; grandsons, Jayden Smith, Coby Smith, Spencer Smith and Rylan Wright; sisters, Debbie and husband Greg Mellum, Charlotte and husband Jim Wendt, and Darlene Larson; nephews, Jeff, Brandon and Brock, and a niece Cami, as well as numerous other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Beverly, a brother Calvin, and a stepson Richard (Larson) Veidt.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 17, at Glacier Memorial Gardens at 4 p.m. A celebration of life will follow.
