Kenneth Nelson Cox, 68

| July 23, 2020 1:00 AM

Kenny passed away after his battle with pancreatic cancer July 14, 2020, at his home in Miles City.

He was born Sept. 1, 1951, in Middletown, Ohio, to Samuel Wilburn Cox and Arletta Jean Cox. In 1966 they packed up their family and moved to Columbia Falls.

After high school he joined the National Guard where he served eight years. By 1978 Kenny met and married Debbie Swartzenberger and they had two girls. He worked at the aluminum plant for a number of years while starting their own business, K & D Welding. Eventually work had become more prosperous and grew into Cox’s Aluminum Welding.

From 1990 to 2003 Kenny proudly joined the Evergreen Fire Department as a volunteer and firefighter and chief. One day he embarked on a new adventure taking him to Colstrip where he worked in the coal mines as an equipment operator. There he met Debbie Reedy. Together they relocated to Miles City where they enjoyed their small farm of cattle and two dogs, Boe and Spud. Kenny loved the outdoors. If the weather was nice, he was guaranteed to close up his business and head out camping, fishing, or hunting with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Cox, and brother/best friend Michael Cox.

He is survived by his mother, Arletta Jean Cox; wife, Debbie Cox; daughter, Jessica Treweek and husband Scott Treweek and their three children, Charlee, Cash and Sydney; daughter, Teicha Cox Howell and her husband Slade Howell with their two children Sonja Jade and Saylor Darby; stepsons, John and Grant Erickson; sisters, Alice Meyer and Debbie Beck; and brothers, Samuel Cox Jr. and Walter Cox.

Kenny will always be remembered for his sense of humor, memorable laugh, and outrageous expressions. We will love you always, until we meet again.

Please join us for a barbecue at the Foy’s Lake Schoolhouse (across from Herron Park) on Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m.
