Search underway on Lake Koocanusa for man presumed to have drowned

Searchers continue to look for a man who presumably drowned in Lake Koocanusa on Friday.

According to information from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Mamadou N’Diaye, an 18-year-old man from Baltimore, Maryland, was on a boat on the east side of the reservoir north of Rexford Bench when he jumped into the water and never resurfaced.

The Sheriff’s Office and CanAM Search and Rescue responded to the scene at about 4:40 p.m. Friday. They were assisted by Flathead County Search and Rescue, U.S. Border Patrol, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and Two Bear Air.
