Von Lyman Lindsay, 58

| June 10, 2020 1:00 AM

Von Lyman Lindsay, 58, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2020.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1961, in Missoula to Walle and Mary Lou Lindsay. Growing up, the family moved several times around the United States before settling into the Flathead Valley, a place where Von was always proud to call home. Von graduated from Flathead High School in 1980.

After returning home from the University of Montana, Von joined his father back in Kalispell and created the marketing firm, Lindsay & Associates, which he successfully owned and operated until his death.

It is a well-known fact that anyone that knew Von loved him instantly. His big dimpled smile and kind eyes, always followed by a great big “Vonster” hug could make even the coldest of hearts melt from happiness.

Von was a lot of things: A lifelong comic book addict, a pirate 200 years too late (the Captain Morgan company is undoubtedly devastated by his loss), a proud Montanan, a devout animal lover and diehard Steelers fan, all to the soundtrack of Jimmy Buffett.

But above all he was a golden heart, bursting full of love for his family and his friends.

Though he only lived 58 calendar years, we’ve learned from Von that life simply can’t be measured in years. It’s measured in hearts you change, love you give and memories you make.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walle, his grandparents, and his adoring coworker of nearly 30 years, Carole Cusick.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou; his siblings, Suzy (husband Keith), Wade and Brett; his nieces, Danyelle (husband Pierce), Meagan and Taylor, and nephew, Clay; his best friend of over 40 years, Neal Knutson (wife Robin); and the unbelievable amount of friends he made along the way.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation in honor of Von can be made to Harlow Bean Animal Charity; www.harlowbean.com
